Working group

Short Description

It is a method that tends to form working groups of people with different opinions or with different professionalisms, who come together and work together in a coordinated manner to face and solve a problem that could not be solved individually by the individual components. The lifespan of a working group can last between a few months and several years.

Pedagogical Information

The working groups used during the meetings and during the development of the project allow to analyse the various phases of the project from various points of view and contribute to know the opinions of all the participants and to the harmonization and realization of the objective that is pursued thanks to specific expertise of each person.

European Dimension

Working group is a method very commonly used in order to work together on an established theme, on which everyone reflects and collaborates to fully realize the goal to be achieved. This allows the active participation of all members and the achievement of a shared result.

Applied in projects

Senior Volunteering in Europe

The project work started with a short research about volunteering in all partner countries. 5 regular transnational meetings ensured a good project progress.

During the meetings partners worked in groups, discussing different aspects of volunteering. Older learners and volunteers have always participated in the meetings, as their meaning and approach was very important. Discussion groups, involving volunteers and volunteer organizations were also created on national level.

The SenVol project showed the volunteering of elderly people in different contexts and cultures of the participating countries and showed that today our society does not really work without volunteering. It also highlighted the learning process that takes place during volunteering.
