Lecturing and workshop training
The steps of the method are:
1. Preparatory stage: a set of lecturer are
prepared to work in a multidisciplinary group of PhD students to give them
knowledge to create a common language nevertheless the differences of each
scientific area, to be open for methods
diffusion in their studies, to understand
ethical topics in studies science
and to create an ethical moral of the scientists. All lecturers together discussed
the way for giving knowledge about transferable skills before to carry out
their courses.
2 Implementation stage – Lecturing and presenting the main principles about diffusion of knowledge and methods of the scientific areas, skills for presentations.
3. Presentation: Group members work in a simulating environment under the management of specially qualified Tutors and researchers. Each member of the group prepare and present his/her scientific topic in three different ways imitating three audiences – peers and close scientific community (national and international), business community and potential donors of the study and mass media and children from secondary level schools with the aim to motivate them to study science. 4. Evaluation stage- each member of the group analyses and evaluates the presentations of the others and make recommendations for bettering the presentation. All presentations are filming and nonverbal behavior of the presenter is discussed. Evaluation is based of: a questionnaire for self-satisfaction of their own presentation and a questionnaire for evaluation the work of the lecturer.
Pedagogical Information
The mixed way of training using lectures and active participation of the students make possible to learn and to create skills in parallel.European Dimension
To create common standards and ethical norms in the work of scientists.Applied in projects
Increasing skills and qualification of young scientists for professional realization in the border areas between science and business, under Operational Program for Development of HR
The project aims are to create a mechanism to facilitate career development of young scientists and post-doctoral students by increasing their transferable skills and skills for communication with their colleagues from other scientific areas in Bulgaria and UK and to create their common language, to teach them to communicate with potential users of the research results. The project idea is to find out effective mechanisms for collaboration between scientists and potential users of their scientific results; to train students to work in a complex team for creating different types of innovations.
